Yesterday i received this email from one of my registrars that warns me against false domain renewal companies, i already was contacted by one of those companies (the Domain Registry of America) through snail mail, they ask you to renew your domain at an exhorbitant price, be sure to read this for your own safety:
Dear client,
We have learnt that several amongst you have received either an email or letter which warns you that you have to renew your domain or hosting to avoid risking loosing it.
If this message has been sent by “Domain Renewal” or “Domain Registry of America”, please ignore this. These firms operate on the border of legal activities by using public whois information. They try to convince you to pay them. No need to say that this is a scam.
Please do not answer to their letter or email and do not pay them. At Nucleus you are always invited by email to renew your domain or hosting online only through OUR website.
